NEIRA’s highest award honors hospitality professionals who have made a lasting contribution to the culture of New England hospitality.
“John is well known for his leadership in the hospitality industry,” said Steucek, “Nominatedby his peers for this award, and as a past Chairman of the Association, John has been a source of inspiration for hoteliers and Innkeepers all over New England with his deep industry knowledge and breadth of experience.”
Murtha is a 40-year veteran of the industry with 25 years of experience as general manager of urban and resort hotels in the U.S. and Caribbean. Since 2007 Murtha has been General Manager of Boston’s Omni Parker House, the longest continuously operating hotel in the United States, and is the area Managing Director responsible for the Omni Bedford Springs Resort, Omni New Haven Hotel, Omni Providence Hotel and the Omni Mt.
