Cozumel, Mexico: Living Sea Sculpture is announcing its first Dive & Draw Experience taking place March 22 - 26, 2020 in Cozumel, Mexico at the Zoe - a Living Sea Sculpture Dive Site.
This unique workshop will enable participants to experience underwater drawing using the aquaSketch® waterproof scrolling vellum. Once on land, they'll transform their sketches into painted works of art in the workshop facilitated by artist Mark Hagan, inventor of aquaSketch®, Patti Mollica artist, author, and instructor, and Colleen Flanigan, socio-ecological artist, founder of Living Sea Sculpture., and creator of Zoe – A Living Sea Sculpture.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about coral reef conservation and regeneration efforts and take part in a special dive to engage with the Zoe project.
No prior drawing or painting experience required. The workshop is also open to non-divers and snorkelers interested in exploring underwater art. The primary dive site for the workshop consists of depths of 12' - 25’ with shore entry. Non-divers will be able to observe fellow attendees at the dive site on the live stream underwater audio and video camera.
"Most recreational divers are already enamored with the sea, yet when do they have the opportunity to slow down, really see and express their intimate connection with the marine environment and aquatic life? Creating one-of-a-kind artwork through this experience gives them a new medium and skills to engage in ocean awareness and restoration," said Colleen Flanigan, Founding Director of Living Sea Sculpture.
Reservations for Dive & Draw 2020 Cozumel are available now, with limited space, at $789.00 per person. Deadline for signup is February 15, 2020.
