“WorldlyXP” Launches Revolutionary and Timely Virtual Gap Year for Students

Online educational startup “WorldlyXP” is poised to offer unique and affordable virtual gap year programming to participants beginning August 2020. Aimed at recent high school graduates deferring or turning down their college enrollment due to the Covid-19 pandemic, WorldyXP’s programming will include opportunities for self discovery, marketable skill building, and professional mentorship.
Founder Jeff Ritter, former professor of Communication, Media and Technology at La Roche University, is currently recruiting students to his new program which couples high quality mentorship and digital technologies in order to offer a one-of-a-kind educational experience in a nearly untapped market.
With in-person education paused and replaced with sub-par online instruction in the wake of Covid-19, many prospective college students are refusing to pay increasing tuition prices for the decrease in learning quality and the loss of opportunities such as extracurriculars. A large number of these students are deferring their enrollment at the last minute and looking into what is known in the higher education industry as “gap years”. However, the majority of formal gap year programs are unavailable as they typically rely on international and domestic travel. WorldlyXP, operating virtually, will fill this “gap” in gap year program offerings.
The program is also recruiting those who are not sure about or may be unprepared for the college experience by presenting alternatives to higher education such as training certifications and apprenticeships.
WorldlyXP will give students learning opportunities through the use of curated online content and digital mentorship. The program will utilize innovative technologies such as virtual reality and video chats with change makers, entrepreneurs, and peers from across the globe. Through these avenues and more, participants will work to hone their skills and interests before making the leap to college or the job market.
Core components of the program will include Immersive Learning, Portfolio Creation, Team Building and Collaboration, and Entrepreneurship. The WorldlyXP team currently consists of a group of educators, entrepreneurs, and visionaries from the United States, Brazil, India, and Colombia.
The price to enroll in WorldlyXP will range from free to just $99 a month for premium services, as a key component of the program is to ensure education is affordable for everyone. At hundreds of dollars cheaper than a traditional gap year program and thousands less than college, Ritter hopes that “students at any level who want to figure out who they are and where they want to go” will join WorldlyXP.
