(TRAVPR.COM) ITALY - July 22nd, 2020 -

Over these last couple of weeks, airlines has reinstated flight from UK to Croatia (including Wizz Air), restaurants, bars and beaches in the meantime are already opening implementing new precautions in place.

Providing relevant proof U.S. citizens could enter in Croatia since July 1st as well as all European Union nationals that hold a permanent residence in E.U. without any restrictions.

The requirements now include a negative PCR test no older than 48 hours, stating from the time of taking the test until arrival at the border crossing and a confirmation of the reservation. These requirements are valid also for passengers and crews traveling by yacht, according to the U.S. Embassy in Croatia.

In case your test is older than 48 hours you will be allowed to enter Croatia, however you will be on a self-isolation order and will have to take a test again on your own expense (around $ 230). While the result of the test is pending you will be on self-isolation. If you arrive in Croatia without a negative PCR test for at least seven days prior to taking a local PCR test you will be on quarantine/self-isolate. If travellers arrive and refuse to take the test or fail to present a PCR test will be ordered to self-isolate or quarantine for 14 days. As soon as you receive the test result and it is negative a local epidemiologist has to be contact and wait the self-isolation will be cleared.

Haute Retreats believes Croatia should be on your to go places post-lockdown and here are 8 reasons:

The beaches

Croatian beaches are typically pebbly, so don’t forget to bring your swimming shoes to enjoy your time the most on the beach. When thinking of Croatian Beaches V-shaped Zlatni Rat on Brač comes to mind, but there many secluded beaches like Krivica Beach on Lošinj and Stračinska on Šolta that are beautiful. There are also beautiful sandy beaches in the little island of Rab.

A less beaten area in Croatia is also Zadar riviera known for the exceptional variety and richness of the seashore. There are many large and small bays. Some islands in this riviera located North Split are not inhabited and perfect if you are seeking some quiet time. The beaches in this area are also different including sandy, small-pebbled secluded beaches among the rocks. If you like wind surf or kite surf this is the perfect area for you.

Dubrovnik free of crowds

Since only few small ships are now docking in Dubrovnik and throughout the summer, now is the perfect time to enjoy this Unesco-listed Old Town. Excellent time to explore the city walls considering that the admission fee has been cutoff. Don’t miss to take a shuttle boat to one of the many islands for an excursion or hike the Mount Srd, a mountain peak at an elevation of 393m (1289ft) above the sea level, located just behind Dubrovnik

Island Exploring

Considering that only 1244 islands and islets of Croatia are habitable and it is challenging to choose one, Haute Retreats suggests to take an island tour. From Split you can reach Hvar, Brač, Vis, Šolta and Korčula, and head south towards Dubrovnik to discover the lush green Mljet and the Elaphiti islands. Lošinj can be reached via a connecting bridge from Cres. Rab island is served by regular ferries as Krk island. If you are staying in the Zadar Riviera don’t miss to cruise around the archipelago and stop in Dugi Otok.

The national parks

It is now the perfect time to explore the 16 lakes and countless waterfall in the celebrated Plitvice Lake National Park. Don’t miss the Magnificent Seven near Šibenik. If you like hiking you should climb the peaks at Paklenica and Risnjak.

Croatian Cuisine

The food in Croatia is a combination of savour and fresh ingredients. From simply grilled fresh fish to delicious Ston oysters, or an octopus salad dressed with olive oil and garlic or truffles from Istria, Croatia has an array of tasteful food. Another typical specialty of this country is the “ispod peke” that includes pork, veal or lamb cooked for hours in an iron pot buried in embers, the result is a succulent meal.

The ancient history

Romans left so much history in this land. Staring with Pula’s amphitheatre, the Roman Forum in Zadar and the ruins of Salona located north of Split, in Solin. Croatia offers so much to see and experience.

Wine

Considered one of the most exciting wines in Europe, the Croatian wine offers dry white grk from Lumbarda in Korčula and crisp white žlahtina from Vrbnik in Krk. The perfect climate of southern Dalmatia is perfect for the heady reds and other varieties that are grown nowhere else.
