Formation of Karnataka State Council

(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - August 13th, 2020 - Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) has been established based on the success of ALL Ladies League (ALL) and Women Economic Forum (WEF), wherein women entrepreneurs have greatly benefitted with women’s networking, exchange and collaborations. As a National Business Chamber for Women, WICCI further strengthens women’s entrepreneurship and boosts businesses through greater engagement with government, institutions and global trade. WICCI enables fundamental changes in governmental policies, laws and incentives with a view to robustly encourage and empower women in business, industry and commerce across all sectors. As a Nation, India is envisaging a 5 trillion USD economy. This can easily be achieved and exceeded by the active inclusion of women entrepreneurs, businesses and professionals in all walks of life: by empowering our influence on decision-making.

Keeping this idea in mind of the 250+ industries that are represented under the umbrella of WICCI ( www.wicci.in) ,The Rural Tourism Council has been formed to promote rural tourism projects within India and abroad and to encourage self-reliance amongst the rural landscape with its continuous mentorship for the socio-economic empowerment of local communities by connecting them with the strong global network of WICCI.This will in turn help them to market the stay options for the travellers from around the world. The state council of Rural Tourism for Karnataka will be led by Mrs.Geetanjali Dhar as President and Mrs.Manik Deshmukh as Vice-President, the council has members from diverse background including from the tourism domain.

With a vision of development of Sustainable Livelihood and Self-Reliance amongst rural Women by preserving their ancient knowledge and wisdom, the team will work on a mission to provide mentorship to identified and selected tourism projects with the help of the council members. Tourism Council will strive to bring out the best of Social Enterprise, creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship by preserving rural culture, food, knowledge, and wisdom.

Impart training programs for through Seminar/Workshop etc for the local communities.

Arrange awareness campaign about the available government schemes to help create homestays / community stays etc.

Provide opportunity to make the local products / produce marketable through Rural Tourism Council network.
