New Leadership to Bring Powerhouse Food & Beverage Program to Historic Hotel Flor

Tampa Bay, FLA (8th, 2025) – TAMPA, FL —The Dan, a 1920s-inspired restaurant nestled inside the historic Hotel Flor in Downtown Tampa, proudly announces the arrival of Executive Chef Jason Revell. With a journey in the restaurant industry that began unexpectedly in Palmetto, Florida, Chef Revell brings a deep-rooted passion and years of experience having grown up in the industry. His passion for creativity and a bold new vision is coming soon to The Dan.
Chef Revell’s career began humbly, washing dishes at a local restaurant where his interest in cooking quickly blossomed. Influenced by the refined simplicity of Marco Pierre White and the innovative techniques of Heston Blumenthal, Chef Revell blends classic fundamentals with a forward-thinking approach to food. What excites you most about joining this restaurant?
"I’ve always enjoyed a challenge, and this hotel presents an exciting opportunity," said Revell. "Creativity is the basis of culinary arts, and I intend to make dining at Hotel Flor a unique and creative experience.”
Chef Revell plans to transform The Dan into a polished American-style bistro with approachable pricing, elevated presentations, and thoughtful touches like tableside activations and reimagined classics. While specific lunch and dinner menu items are still in development, guests can look forward to creative spins on Florida favorites, a refreshed dessert lineup, and a focus on fresh, local ingredients. Visitors can also enjoy Happy Hour from 4–6 PM, Sunday through Thursday, with discounted lite bites, cocktails, beer, and wine - perfect for unwinding any day of the week.
In his first few weeks, Revell has already made significant changes behind the scenes, working closely with his culinary team to reorganize and revamp the kitchen in preparation for an exciting new chapter.
Being part of Tampa’s culinary scene holds great significance for Revell, who looks forward to showing both locals and visitors what a historic landmark like Hotel Flor can offer.
Guests can expect the first wave of changes to debut in the coming months, including an exciting new brunch rollout, marking a fresh and flavorful era at The Dan.
