(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - January 9th, 2013 - The Makokola Retreat is pleased to announce the introduction of homemade Italian gelatos to Malawi. The Resort was honored to have Alessandro Racca, Maestro Gelataio from Italy for two weeks, to conduct training on how to make that traditional and perfect mouth-watering gelato. State of the art gelato machines have been bought all the way from Italy to ensure that the perfect gelato is made every time.

Thanks to Alessandro’s training and the new gelato machines the Makokola Retreat is now able to make homemade gelatos while trying to use as much locally sourced products as possible. However, if the products needed cannot be found locally or are not of the required high standard they are brought in directly from Italy. Thereby, ensuring that all gelatos are made with the freshest seasonal products, the highest quality ingredients and handmade care. In addition to this, all gelatos are free of colorings and artificial additives and are full of intense flavor to tickle anyone’s taste buds.

The Makokola Retreat’s ice cream makers are able to offer various classic flavours such as: vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee, coconut, banana, stracciatella and lemon. In addition to on offer will be various seasonal flavours that will vary throughout the year and ranges from: mango, chocolate masuku, strawberry, pineapple, peach, guava, custards apple and caramel. Finally, a surprise flavour of the month will also be available to guests. All gelatos can either be enjoyed in a bowl or in one of our delicious homemade cones.
