Kids Week brings theatre to life for youngsters says LondonTown.com
(TRAVPR.COM) UK - August 1st, 2014 - Kids Week aims to encourage youngsters to attend the theatre productions. Around 36 theatres participate in this theatrical spectacular, including several long running West End productions.
The special week of theatre was established seventeen years ago to inspire children to enjoy live productions from a young age. Children are encouraged to attend some of the best shows in London with their parents and join in with fun activities. Taking place over various West End theatres, Kids Week offers shows which will appeal to children aged 3-16. Little ones would enjoy shows like Aliens Love Underpants, The Elephantom and The Tiger Who Came to Tea, while older children can sing along to the songs of Mamma Mia, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Lion King. Kids Week also caters for teens with shows like Billy Elliot, The Bodyguard, The Commitments and the Mousetrap, which are all suitable for children aged 12-16. Other productions for children over the age of 5 include The Pajama Game, The 39 Steps and Stomp. Kids Week also offers a number of child-friendly activities, such as dance classes, singing and storytelling workshops, noise making workshops, and Q&A sessions with the cast of some of the shows - all of these are all pre-bookable when purchasing theatre tickets. Many central London restaurants cater for children and have special kids’ meals so parents can organise a pre-theatre meal for the family.
Kids Week runs from 1-31 August 2014 and tickets start at £25. One child aged 16 and under goes free to participating shows when an adult buys a full price ticket, with no booking fees and up to two extra children can go half price. Check out www.londontown.com for more details.
