Adding on to the repertoire, are well-loved western delicacies like bright macarons, dark and white chocolates, crunchy coconut rochers, wine-infused raisins and some tasty, savoury items like saffron and rosemary cashewnuts and five-spice nuts. The added highlight this year will clearly be the Arabic sweets like the delicate bird’s nest or Osh el bulbul, Date maamouls and the rich filo baklavas.

As centre stage of the lobby, the Diwali Confectioneryat Park Hyatt Chennai will be a collection of the hotel’s offerings specially created for Diwali, along with ornamental candles and earthen lamps with special do-it-yourself hampers that guests have the flexibility to mix and match and create themselves. The hampers allow guests to create a motley collection ranging from chocolates to the different teacakes, carrot and walnut cakes along with an interesting and eclectic line-up of dips, fruit preserves and chutneys as well.
