Vir Sanghvi’s Prestigious 2014 Rude Food Awards announced the China Kitchen as the best Chinese restaurant.

(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - December 4th, 2014 - Delhi – On 16 November 2014, the city’s most prestigious awards ceremony, the Rude Food Awards, which was started by one of the most respected food critics in the industry today, Vir Sanghvi, named The China Kitchen the city’s “Best Chinese Restaurant” in the five-star category.  The awards also presented Hyatt Regency Delhi’s Director of Food and Beverage Somnath Dey with the title “Food and Beverage Professional of the Year”.

About The China Kitchen
Located adjacent to the pool, The China Kitchen comprises four distinctive components: an open kitchen that is encountered immediately on entering the restaurant; five skillfully designed private dining rooms; a wine wall and tea bar; and the dining area.

Depicting traditional elements of a Chinese house, the restaurant is surrounded by double-glazed glass on all sides.  Diners are welcomed into the majestic open kitchen, which incorporates five sections: the Peking duck station; the dumpling and noodle station; the steamer; the wok; and the dessert kitchen.

With a strong emphasis on fresh ingredients, The China Kitchen menu has been crafted under the direct supervision of its master chefs, each a craftsman in his specialty.  The menu features uncomplicated seasonal dishes highlighted by classic Chinese favorites such as “Steamed Spinach with Mustard-Sesame Sauce”; “Sichuan Poached Chicken with Crushed Peanuts”; “Peking Duck”; “Special Dim Sum”; and “Beggar’s Chicken".  Ingredients form an important part of the restaurant, and in order to maintain the authenticity of the cuisine a large variety of vegetables is grown on the hotel’s farm using Chinese seeds.

The private dining rooms, a unique high point of the restaurant, have been named after the provinces of China, which incidentally also point to the chefs’ origins: Sichuan, Hubei, Guangzhou, Anhui and Hunan.  Each room offers diners special cuisine, as well as a music menu.  One of the rooms also features karaoke equipment for additional entertainment.  

The restaurant’s style is that of a traditional tea bar, offering a wide selection of Chinese teas and creating an alternative venue in which to relax and indulge in a true Chinese dining experience that brings together cutting-edge style and culture.

The China Kitchen provides the perfect introduction to authentic Chinese cuisine accompanied by an excellent selection of wines and Chinese beverages.  A specially designed wine wall showcases wine selections, which are stored at the correct temperature to suit all connoisseurs.
