Di and Viv and Rose, a play about university friends and their troublesome futures, returns to the Hampstead Theatre for an in-demand revival
(TRAVPR.COM) UK - January 17th, 2013 - The Hampstead Theatre’s downstairs space’s biggest success is back in a bigger form in 2013. Di and Viv and Rose, a play by Amelia Bullmore, was a huge hit in the venue’s smaller downstairs studio in 2012.
Due to popular demand, from 17th January 2013, it makes its switch to main upstairs space at the Eton Avenue theatre, with Tamzin Outhwaite, Gina McKee and Anna Maxwell Martin as the three friends, and Hedda Gabler director Anna Mackmin directing.
Di and Viv and Rose tells the story of three friends who meet at university aged 18, lived together and formed an intense bond – making themselves a force ‘not to be messed with’. Fast forward a few years, and some major hurdles have been thrown in their way. How will the three companions cope with these new traumas?
The Hampstead Theatre is one of London’s foremost off-West End venues. The space has existed in various forms since 1959, opening with two new plays by Harold Pinter. It spent nearly 40 years running out of a portacabin in Swiss Cottage before transferring to its current home, a state-of-the-art, purpose-built theatre in Primrose Hill.
Theatre fans travelling up for the show, which runs until February 23rd 2013, can take advantage of LondonTown.com’s offers and discounts on hotels in London. Just two streets down from the theatre is the London Marriott Hotel Regents Park, with doubles from £106 on January 25th. Or stay in the Holiday Inn Camden Lock Hotel for £98.
