(TRAVPR.COM) UK - June 3rd, 2013 - A mini movie festival held in a brewery near one of East London's most popular parks and fuelled by a steady supply of craft beer and barbecued delights - you can't get much better than Backyard Cinema's first event of the summer. Held in the London Fields Brewery over the weekend of 15th and 16th June, Backyard Cinema features an appealing line-up that blends recent releases with all-time classics and cult comedies - from the blood and laughs of Django Unchained to the sing-along tunes of Blues Brothers.
LondonTown.com has teamed up with Backyard Cinema to offer seven lucky readers a pair of tickets to a screening of their choice from the seven films that will play out over the weekend on the giant 12-foot screen in the first railway arch of the Hackney brewery.
Videogame-inspired flick Wreck-it Ralph kicks the festival off on Saturday 15th June at 1pm before rollicking feel-good treasure hunt caper The Goonies (3.30pm) and Quentin Tarantino's take on the spaghetti western, Django Unchained (6pm). Guests are then invited to don their shades, black ties and hats and sing and dance their way through an interactive screening of Blues Brothers (9.30pm). Sunday starts with a couple of hours of chilled monkey brains and heart-stopping adventures with Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (2pm) before screenings of the hilarious teen comedy Superbad (4.30pm) and the Oscar-winning and thought-provoking comedy Silver Linings Playbook (7pm).
To be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets to Backyard Cinema, readers simply have to answer the following question: Which character in The Goonies is renowned for his 'Truffle Shuffle'? Answers should be emailed to competitions@londontown.com with 'Backyard Cinema' in the subject header by midday on Friday 7th June 2013. Entrants should include their full name, contact number and film preference from the seven screenings. The first seven names out of the hat will win a pair of tickets to the film of their choice.
Tickets for Backyard Cinema cost £12 per screening, £15 with food or two drinks, or £19 for the lot. Besides a great selection of the London Fields Brewery's craft beers (which include the deliciously flavoursome Hackney Hopster pale ale and the pacifying Love Not War red ale), film-lovers can enjoy a selection of English wines, local snacks and soft drinks, as well as a BBQ out in the courtyard. The Brewery will be decked out with beanbags, deckchairs and bunting, while a superior soundsystem will add to the cinematic experience.
The ethos of Backyard Cinema is: "Somewhere captivating I can watch a great movie with food, booze and mates." With an eclectic line-up of films being shown in a brewery serving top notch food, guests will simply need to bring along some mates to tick all the boxes. Although not technically outdoors, Backyard Cinema features on LondonTown.com's comprehensive guide to London's best outdoor film screenings this summer.
