The penultimate play in the Michael Grandage season takes to the stage, reports LondonTown.com

(TRAVPR.COM) UK - September 2nd, 2013 - Shakespeare’s popular comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream is given another revival this year, taking to the stage at the Noel Coward Theatre from 7th September to 16th November 2013. The play is the penultimate offering in the Michael Grandage season, which saw the former Artistic Director of the Donmar Warehouse present a series of five plays with more than 100,000 tickets available for just £10. So far the season has presented the likes of Peter and Alice with Dame Judi Dench and the Cripple of Inishmaan with Daniel Radcliffe. Theatre goers travelling from outside of the capital can make the most of their stay by booking one of LondonTown.com's many cheap London hotels.

Continuing the season’s impressive cast listing, A Midsummer Night’s Dream stars theatre regular Sheridan Smith as Titania, the Queen of the fairies, and David Walliams, who takes the role of Bottom. The comedy has three intertwining plots that are connected by the wedding of Duke Theseus of Athens and the Amazon Queen, Hippolyta. Its story follows four young Athenian lovers - Lysander, Demetrius, Helena and Hermia - and a group of amateur actors, who are manipulated by the fairies of the forest that the play is set. Bringing the worlds of magic and reality together on a London stage, it displays how love at first sight can be magnificent for some but disastrous for others.

Concluding the Michael Grandage season will be Henry V, starring Jude Law. Grandage and Law are no strangers to working together after they collaborated on Hamlet in 2009 and on the award-winning production of Anna Christie, which was part of Grandage’s final season as Artistic Director at the Donmar Warehouse. Henry V is another Shakespearean piece and explores the bloody horrors of war and the turmoil that can come as a result. Will the King of England successfully command his men to victory in France? Henry V comes to London’s West End on 23rd November 2013 and runs until 15th February 2014.
