The Ultimate Anti-Valentine's Night
(TRAVPR.COM) UK - January 22nd, 2014 - For singletons who don't swoon at mention of Valentine's Day and come out in a cold rash at the thought of (whisper) dating and romance, this one's for you. At Down with Dating – the Ultimate Anti-Valentine's Night, there's no chance of hearts and flowers or coming into contact with the amorous couples you'll find crammed into most London restaurants on 14th February.
Instead, you can enjoy Speed Hating, which gives you the chance to bond with people over the little things in life you just can't stand. Of course, if you'd rather just vent your rage and scare the person opposite you, that'd probably be fine too. There'll be some old time games, a bit of disco, and a misfortune teller, who will circulate to read palms and predict death and destruction.
Finally, one lucky lady will be picked for Blind Hate. Now, if you can remember the wonderful Cilla Black's long-running TV show – this is the exact opposite. The chosen one will get to pick her potential future partner by asking questions such as ‘If I turned into a zombie and tried to eat your flesh, which household implement would you use to finish me off?’. Afterwards, the lucky couple will be whisked off for a deluxe fish finger for two at a table near the toilets.
Described by the Evening Standard as "Delightfully hateful", Down with Dating is a spin off from the Feeling Gloomy club.
“It's pretty relaxed and actually talking about things you hate is a bit easier than sitting there and trying to make small talk about working in IT and having flat in Fulham," says promoter Karl Hill. "Here you can really let rip and the beauty of it is that as we give you a false name when you come in no-one need ever know who you are! The girls really to go for it, I think they have a lot to get out..!"
Down with Dating – The Ultimate Anti-Valentine's Night: 14th February, £10 + booking fee, 7.30-10.30, 37 Cavendish Square, London, W1G 0PP, enquiries: 08700 600 100.
