A seven-course meal is served with a side of sultry burlesque, reports LondonTown.com
(TRAVPR.COM) LONDON - October 14th, 2013 - Pop up restaurateurs The Wandering Chef have taken up residency in South Kensington Club La Maison des Artistes for their latest venture, Opium Nights. Running every Friday and Saturday in October and November, the pop up takes inspiration from the sultry opium dens of the Orient and invites guests to enjoy an intimate evening of Asian food, potent cocktails and risqué entertainment. For anyone travelling into the capital this autumn, a great selection of cheap London hotels can be found on LondonTown.com.
Lalie and Jamie, two chefs who have an undeniable creative flair with food, are the culinary duo behind The Wandering Chef. They've previously held a number of events across London including Head, Shoulders, Veal and Toes, Veal and Toes, a pop up operating theatre serving gruesome but tasty delights and Grub Club at the Movies, with foodie events inspired by films.
For this current project, guests will descend into the intimate La Maison des Artiste, a new underground club in west London, where they will be greeted by a world of menu-growing trees, fortune cookies and chopsticks. Once everyone is seated a sumptuous seven-course meal is served, boasting dishes such as absinthe marinated sashimi, fried soft shell crab, and glazed duck with rice pancakes and roast pear. Further treats of the evening include saucy burlesque dancers and some seriously sexy dessert. Be warned, this isn't an event for prudes. Once the dinner is over, the venue morphs back into a club and guests are invited to party the night away.
Opium Nights costs £50 per person, which includes a welcome cocktail, seven-course meal, entertainment and entry to the club.
